In 2006 Jason made his first left turn into the stock car racing in a Late model at Irwidale Speedway. He and his dad spent that year learning the ropes of stock car racing and getting Jason experience in the NASCAR world.
At the end of 2006, Jason was approached by long time friend and the person he bought his first go-kart from - Robert Bruncati, the owner of Sunrise Ford, and was asked to drive for his K&N Pro Series West team. At the start of their venture the plan was to run five races and gain some experience. After a few test days that quickly turned into plans to run a full season.
During the 2007 season, Jason and the team were able to amass a pole position, 2 wins, 8 top-10's and finish 3rd in the championship. Bowles earned rookie-of-the-year honors.
For the 2008 season, the Sunrise Ford team added championship crew chief Bill Sedgewick and received immidiate results. Jason amassed 4 wins, 5 pole positions and 7 top-5 finishes, ending the season 2nd in the championship.
2009 began where Bowles left off in 2008. The Southern California native captured 3 wins, 4 poles and the NASCAR K&N Pro Series championship.
