May 19, 2009 - BOWLES EXTENDS TOP-10 STREAK IN NASCAR CAMPING WORLD EAST-WEST COMBINATION RACE
Talented American reduces gap to first place in championship standings to 16 points

NEWTON, IOWA  – Jason Bowles continued to show why he is one of the drivers to watch in the NASCAR Camping World West Series on Sunday (May 17), earning a top-10 finish at the Iowa Speedway. Going up against the best drivers from across the country, as well as a race-winning NASCAR Sprint Cup race pilot in the Long John Silver’s 200 NASCAR Camping World Series East-West combination race, the California briefly led, before securing a ninth place result.

One of the premier events on the NASCAR Camping World West Series calendar, the on-track action at the Iowa Speedway commenced on Saturday (May 16) with a late afternoon practice session. Bowles, piloting the No. 6 Sunrise Ford/Oakley/Joe Gibbs Racing Oil/GS 610/RPM 12/Justice Brothers/Bell/Ford, immediately showed he was ready to challenge for top honors, turning the fourth fastest time.

Returning to the 0.875-mile oval day later for race day, the former karting and formula car standout continued his strong outing. After posting the ninth quickest time in the morning practice session, Bowles remained a top-10 driver in single-car qualifying, eventually earning a fourth row starting position via the eighth fastest time.

May 13, 2009 - BOWLES RESUMES CHASE FOR CAMPING WORLD WEST SERIES TITLE IN IOWA
Series race winner will go head-to-head with top East and West drivers in lone combination race of the season

NEWTON, IOWA  – Jason Bowles will face his stiffest competition of the season on Sunday (May 17), when he travels to Iowa Speedway for the lone NASCAR Camping World West Series and NASCAR Camping World East Series combination race. The Californian enters the Long John Silver’s 200 as one of the drivers to watch, thanks to a win, a runner-up finish and two pole positions in the previous three races of the 2009 campaign.

Bowles, having been out of the driver’s seat of his No. 6 Sunrise Ford/Oakley/Joe Gibbs Racing Oil/GS 610/RPM 12/Justice Brothers/Bell/Ford for a few weeks, enters Round Five of the NASCAR Camping World West Series excited to resume his pursuit of the series title. Adding to the excitement, the current championship runner-up will not only battle the deep and talented NASCAR Camping World West field, but also be going head-to-head against the top drivers from NASCAR Camping World East Series, as well as NASCAR Sprint Cup standout Kyle Busch. While the 0.875-mile Iowa Speedway has not been kind to the former karting and formula car standout, finishing 22nd and 18th the past two years, Bowles is among the hottest drivers right now in series competition. The California has started from the pole position twice in the past three races, setting a new lap record at All American Speedway, and scoring his seventh career series win in Round Three at Phoenix international Raceway. This combined with a runner-up finish in Round Two and top-10 result in the most recent race, has vaulted Bowles into second in the championship fight.

Californian finished seventh after starting from the pole in Madera

MADERA, CALIF.  – Jason Bowles continued his pursuit of the 2009 NASCAR Camping World West Series title on Saturday night (April 25), with another strong outing at Madera Speedway. The Californian started from the pole position, before eventually taking the checkered flag in a hard-fought seventh place.

A little over a week after capturing his first win of the 2009 season in Round Three at Phoenix International Raceway, Bowles was immediately up to speed on the third of a mile Madera Speedway in his native California. The former karting and formula car standout, having turned some quick laps in the two timed practices sessions, made that readily apparent in single-car qualifying. Starting at the front of the 20-car Camping World West field, Bowles enjoyed a solid start in his No. 6 Sunrise Ford/Oakley/Joe Gibbs Racing Oil/GS 610/RPM 12/Justice Brothers/Bell/Ford, retaining the top spot into the first turn.
